A Kisses’ Journey

In the summer

tall trunk green pine trees

quietly swaying in the soft breeze

a peaceful life

thin needles tapestry the sunlight

as it struggles finding its way through the thickness

the sun’s warmth finally touches the ground

the sunlight’s journey now complete

In the spring

pink cherry blossom delicate petals floating down softly land on her shoulders

others resting for a moment in her hair

a bold petal flickers on an eyelash before blinked off

just moments ago the pink petals noble, high above

they too now finding the ground

together they innocently form a thin pink blanket

something they learned from the snow

soothing the worlds woes

their journey now complete

In the winter

you had invited him to dinner opening the door he hands you a rose

smelling its romantic fragrance that look comes over your face

that special look women only get when smelling flowers in these special moments

the evening as if in slow motion, warm yet exciting the inside of you

his eyes locked in yours, yours in his in a soft embrace all evening hardly noticing the meal

white smoke wafts slowly upward from the snuffed-out candles

the smell of the smoke wrenching you both back to reality marking dinner’s end

he stands, turning to leave,

he stops

turning he kisses you,

his lips gentle as butterfly wings

turning again,

he steps into the cold rain

his hair just over a turned-up collar of his leather jacket

you had told him your favorite flower, a red rose

he remembered

stepping back inside, you turn to see the red rose resting on the table

the roses’ journey now complete

In the Autumn

jump up on a chair

blowing your softest kiss high into the air

I jump up high and catch it when it gets here

your kisses journey now complete

And today

our journey has just begun
